The Best Truffle Steak Sauce And More....

Hello Reader!

As I sit here writing this week's newsletter I am watching a coyote walk down the middle of the street. Doesn't that make you shudder?

I am a bit behind in posting new recipes on the blog simply because I am cooking non-stop for our Passover Seder tonight. I still need to finish a few dishes and set the table today. We are hosting 13 people.

Here is what we are serving for dinner tonight. As always, if you want a recipe I am listing please just respond to this email. Some will be going up on the blog and others will not. Plus, my friends and family are bringing more food than what is listed here!

In no particular order:

  • Brisket
  • Salmon with a citrus herb top
  • Zucchini, potato, onion casserole
  • Mock chopped liver using eggplant as the base
  • Chicken soup with Matzoh balls
  • Homemade gefilte fish with homemade horseradish sauce
  • Carrots with gremolata and tahini sauce
  • Asparagus with a lemon crumble
  • Banana, chocolate, cashew trifle (a beloved recipe that my nieces ask for every year)
  • Kishke

I hope you have been enjoying all the new features on the site! I still have one more to install and test. I appreciate all that you have done to make this blog a success.

As always, here are few links that I am loving this week and happy to share with you:

  1. Amazon's Secret Outlet - Did you know this????
  2. Sleep Like A Swede - 7 Hacks to sleep better - I need a cold room and lots of blankets. How about you?
  3. The Worst Days To Grocery Shop

And now onward to all the newness on the blog.

The first recipe is super delicious and I always have jars of this in my refrigerator! The second is a complete overhaul of an old recipe but it is super delicious and one that is asked for over and over again.

Brown Butter Truffle Steak Sauce

The ingredients seem a bit odd but stay with me! This sauce is addicting.

I serve it on meat and veggies all the time. While the recipe calls for easy-to-find ingredients, I typically use sliced truffles in oil that I buy on Amazon. The links are in the post.

Lentil Soup With Sweet Potatoes, Spinach, and Sausage

This is a classic one-pot meal in a bowl.

My cousin put the original vegan recipe into our family cookbook. I have updated that recipe and added more ingredients but I stayed true to the base. Thank you, Julie and Barb. This is super yummy!

Until next time, enjoy the spring weather! If it's unseasonal where you are, then bring in the sunshine, dream big, and don't forget to have fun in the kitchen!

See you next week!
